This special SYB investigation focuses on the lived experiences of traditional security and cybersecurity professionals. It also takes a holistic approach to security, considering both the technical and social aspects of security.
To answer this question, SYB will conduct interviews with traditional security and cybersecurity professionals, observe their work practices, and analyse organisational documents and policies. The goal of the research would be to identify the challenges and opportunities for integrating traditional security and cybersecurity, and to develop recommendations for how to close the gap between the two domains.
Some specific sub-questions that will be explored as part of this research:

How do traditional security and cybersecurity professionals communicate and collaborate with each other?
What are the challenges and opportunities for integrating traditional security and cybersecurity in complex organisational settings?
